News & Notes

2019 has been a memorable year for Seraph Brass so far. In addition to touring China for the first time, we were honored with the 2019 American Prize in Chamber Music Performance.

A few of our other “high notes”:

  • We completed our first residency at the Walton Art Center’s Artosphere Festival, alongside the Dover Quartet, in the Festival Orchestra.
  • We were featured at the International Trumpet Guild Conference in Miami, Florida.
  • We were featured at the Texas Bandmasters Association Conference in San Antonio, performing for 1600 students with trombone sensation Christopher Bill.
  • We’ve become “BlackBinder Friends,” working with BlackBinder “to bring a revolutionary change to the world of music scores: the automatic scroll.”

On our first tour to China, through the US-China Cultural & Educational Foundation, we toured Jiaxing, Zhoushan, Shaoxing, Xi’an, Chengdu, Guiyang and Shanghai.

Seraph Brass is proud to be a member of the
Arkansas Arts on Tour Roster

Inclusion in this roster allows concert presenters in Arkansas to apply for an Arts on Tour grant to help defray the cost of a Seraph Brass residency. In addition, concert presenters in Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas can apply for a similar grant through the Mid-America Arts Alliance. We are now booking for the 20-21 and 21-22 seasons.
